How often should you get a massage?

One of the most common questions we get is: “how often should I come?” The answer depends on what you want to achieve – but here is a practical guide based on different needs and goals.

For acute ailments and tensions

If you have chronic neck pain, trigger points or persistent muscle tension, it is recommended to start with more frequent treatments – preferably every 1–2 weeks for a period of time. Once the body has learned to release the tension, the effect lasts longer and longer between each treatment.

For stress reduction and prevention

If you use massage primarily to manage stress and prevent tension, one treatment a month is a good starting point for many. This gives the nervous system a regular opportunity to reset itself and keeps muscle tension at a manageable level.

For active people and athletes

If you exercise regularly and use your body a lot, a massage every 2–3 weeks may be ideal. Read more about post-workout massage and recovery to understand why this is smart exercise.

For general well-being

Even if you don't have any specific ailments, regular massage is an investment in your body and health. One treatment every 4–6 weeks is enough to maintain good muscle function, reduce stress levels, and give your body the recovery it needs.
